Personally favoring the psychological horror of Japan over the blood and gore of American horror,
I designed Sutakku to cater to those that might fear a television screen more than a machete. The issue
ties together both the past and present as it highlights the more recent horror movies to come out of Japan
while also showcasing their connection to the KabukiTheater, a popular form of entertainment going back many generations. Many of the photos are from various famous J-Horror movies as well as some of the lesser known ones that people may want to take a look at. Sprinkled through the magazine are personal illustrations also.
