This zine is an adaptation of the poplar Japanese folk tale of the Kuchisakke-Onna,
or “Slit-Mouthed Woman.” It takes the original tale and adds in a few extra high
school students to give an anti-bullying message as well as retaining the horror of
the original story. Keeping with the story’s culture of origin, the zine is drawn in a
heavily manga-inspired style but keeps the western-style of reading left to right.
